■ We've assembled these friendly PC tips and tricks to help you avoid any headaches later on.
■ BIG PROBLEMS MOSTLY START OUT SMALL.
■ In our experiece problems that are caught early, especially faulty compnonents, are best replaced as quickly as possible.
■ There are always exceptions to this, such as a simple PSU failure, but mostly, if it's software based, backup, backup, and backup again.
■ BUY CHEAP - YOU BUY TWICE.
■ Ensure you only buy the best quality components. It's a false economy to build a £2,000 PC and then buy a £30 PSU.
■ KEEP THINGS SEPARATE
■ File management is another huge one we should mention. Make sure you have a separate drive for just your OS, and another one for your file storage. We also recommend using something like Google Drive to keep backups of really important files, documents and photos.
■ COMMON SENSE TIPS
■ Try not to eat or drink around your PC. We've seen so many liquid damaged PCs over the years, and it's a real shame. Some, not all, can be dried and repaired, but it's really a hit and hope game to be honest. Simple rule, eat and drink away from the PC, but if you have to, have a table far away from the PC.
